Webinar: Beekeeper, Farmer, and Landowner Attitudes on Bee Health

Wednesday, May 12, 2021 - 12:00pm

Learn more about beekeeper, farmer and landowner attitudes toward pollinator conservation in Iowa during the Iowa Learning Farms webinar at noon on Wednesday, May 12.

Randall Cass, extension entomologist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, will share results from a survey on pollinator conservation practices that he conducted between 2018 and 2020. Cass will highlight some of the interesting and promising results from the survey and discuss the potential next steps for incorporating this information into the Iowa State bee program’s extension efforts.

This webinar will provide insight to extension and education professionals that conduct outreach to Iowa’s farmers, landowners, and beekeepers and will provide all Iowans with more information about how to implement best management practices to conserve pollinators.

“I hope that people will feel optimistic and excited about working with their friends and neighbors to make Iowa a better place for bees and other pollinators,” said Cass.

Cass provides extension to Iowans about best management practices for bees and other pollinators, conducts research, educates new beekeepers, and manages the Iowa State honey apiary.
