Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is partnering with Extension and Outreach at the University of Illinois and the University of Missouri to offer a tri-state women's woodland stewardship field day at the White Oak Campground in Shimek State Forest on September 9. During this event, nine female forestry professionals from all three states will provide demonstrations and guided hikes on topics including forest management, non-timber forest products, wildlife habitat, tree identification, timber sales, forest health, forest stewardship plans, and forestry equipment. Attendees will be able to choose the topics they want to learn about during two concurrent sessions. During the event, tables will also be set up where attendees will be able to learn about forestry-related organizations and assistance options. This event is being offered as part of programming for Iowa's Women's Woodland Stewardship Network and Missouri's Women Owning Woodlands Network.
Registration is required for this event. *We have extended the deadline to September 7th*. The cost to register is $20 and includes lunch.
