Russian Olive

The Russian olive (Elaeagnus angustifolia) is a shrub or small tree, often leaning or twisted and distorted. It has an open crown and often thorny branches. Its native to Europe and western Asia. It is commonly used as a windbreak and wildlife cover and food. Leaves are long and narrow, silvery colored and scurfy.
