PIDC Wrapped 2024: Plant Disease and Insect Trends with the Plant and Insect Diagnostic Clinic Webinar

Wednesday, November 13, 2024 - 6:00pm

Leaves are changing, landscape plants are senescing, and harvest is in full swing in Iowa. As the 2024 growing season ends, so does our busy season in the Plant & Insect Diagnostic Clinic (PIDC). Have you ever wondered what we see in a typical year at the Iowa State University PIDC?

You can join us on the evening of November 13, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. to hear your ISU PIDC diagnosticians (Chelsea Harbach, Ph.D. [plant disease diagnostician] and Zach Schumm [insect diagnostician]) share trends, interesting cases, and a summary of what was observed in 2024. This will include both plant health problems and insect identifications from samples received across the state of Iowa and throughout the region. The webinar will be held online via Zoom on November 13 at 6:00 p.m. It is free to attend but registration is required. To register, visit: https://go.iastate.edu/EGOHCU

In addition to an overview of 2024 trends, the webinar will provide insight into the diagnostic process at the PIDC, as well as signs and symptoms of common plant insect and disease issues in the Midwest. We hope to give clients and potential clients more information about the issues we encountered in 2024, an insight into the clinic, and more, as we know there is a lot of misinformation regarding plant health and insect problems out there.
