Mykayla Hagaman is the Program Specialist for the Iowa Monarch Conservation Consortium. She works in collaboration with agriculture and conservation organizations, agribusiness and utility companies, universities, and state and federal agencies to increase voluntary monarch habitat conservation across the state. Through outreach and education, Mykayla works to increase awareness about the need for continued monarch conservation and encourages people to establish monarch habitat on their land and in their own yards. Mykayla has a background in pollinator conservation through milkweed restoration and monarch population monitoring with the Illinois Natural History Survey and her master's research, where she partnered with developers, landscaping companies, and homeowners to incorporate native plants into suburban landscape designs. She is also a Florida Certified Horticultural Professional and has extensive experience in environmental education.
