Iowa Learning Farms, Marshall County Soil and Water Conservation District, and USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), will host an edge-of-field and forestry workshop on Tuesday, March 5 from 10:30-12:30 p.m. at the Grimes Farm & Conservation Center outside of Marshalltown. The free event is open to farmers and landowners and includes a complimentary meal.
The Women's Woodland Stewardship Network (WWSN) is partnering with the Iowa DNR and Bur Oak Land Trust to offer a chainsaw class for women that will be led by women instructors. Bur Oak Land Trust will lead the chainsaw education during the day, and WWSN and the DNR will lead an evening learning session about woodland management and tree identification. This is a nice weekend getaway opportunity and a great way to meet other women who care for woodlands!
