Join us to learn about using prescribed fire as a woodland management tool during our Learn and Burn workshop on April 23rd at Stephens State Forest, near Lucas, Iowa.

Iowa DNR professionals will guide landowners through hands-on prescribed fire basics, including planning, tools, preparing fire breaks, and the goals of implementing prescribed fire for woodland management. The goal of the workshop is to provide relevant and helpful information for conducting prescribed fire in the woodlands, with a focus on goal setting and safety. This workshop will be entirely outdoors. All experience levels are welcome. Most equipment will be provided, except for personal clothing (gloves, etc.).

The format of the day will include concurrent sessions in the morning and firebreak preparation and Rx fire attempt in the afternoon.
