Certified Arborists are professional tree care workers who receive certification through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Certified Arborists provide a wide range of services and care to individual trees, including pruning, cabling, removal, plant health care, tree risk assessment, and consulting. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) Urban Forestry Program provides resources, expertise, and technical service to Iowa communities for the enhancement of their urban forest resources. Services, implemented through a variety of partnerships, include community tree inventories and management plan development.
The Iowa State University Plant and Insect Diagnostic Clinic provides diagnosis of plant problems (plant diseases, insect damage, and assessment of herbicide damage) and the identification of insects from the field, forest, garden, and homes.
